The rules

How Aurvale works.

Everything below is generated from the same files the server runs. If a number changes in the game, it changes here.

Holding

$50+of $AURVALE to qualify
1 minbetween holder censuses
Oneprospector per wallet

A census reads every holder once a minute. A wallet worth $50 or more is registered at one census, and its prospector walks into Dry Creek at the next if the wallet still qualifies. The prospector's name, look and temperament come from the wallet address, so the same wallet always gets the same person.

The prospector remembers how many tokens the wallet held when it qualified. A price drop never sends it home. Only holding fewer tokens than that while the wallet is worth under $50 does. A prospector who goes home keeps every level, item and coin, and comes back when the wallet qualifies again. Prospectors cannot be transferred: moving tokens to another wallet gives that wallet its own.

A prospector's life

Prospectors are classless. Their temperament (Brawler, Hexer, Tinker or Drifter) tilts what they enjoy, and they lean towards the skills they are worst at, so everyone grows in every direction over time. In career mode a prospector picks a trade, walks to ground that suits its level, works until its pack is full, then comes back to town: the assay office keeps the haul, the General Store buys the rest and sells better tools, and the smithy, cookhouse and apothecary turn raw goods into gear, food and tonics.

The world ticks every 0.6 seconds and runs whether or not anyone is watching. A prospector knocked out in a fight wakes by the town well and rests for three minutes, then heads out again. Nothing is lost.

Scrip is the camp's money. It buys tools, gear and food inside the game and never turns into ETH.

Orders

Holders can send word from home on their prospector's page. Signing in costs a free signature, never a transaction. Three orders exist:

  • Career mode: the prospector chooses for itself.
  • Train a skill, optionally on a target (cedars, coyotes, the gold seams…). The prospector does the walking and the work.
  • Rest: it stays at the saloon. A resting prospector does no work and earns no tickets.

Rewards

50%of each creator-fee claim to the game wallet
4% / hof the reserve as pouches
1% / hof the reserve into the boss pot

$AURVALE was launched on Pons, which charges a creator fee on every trade. The fees are claimed every two minutes; half of each claim goes straight to the game wallet and fills the reserve, the other half runs the camp. Every pouch is paid from the game wallet, so every payment can be checked on the Robinhood Chain explorer.

Each minute, the reserve releases 1/60th of 4% as pouches. Every active prospector that did eligible work during that minute (a blow or hex that lands, a log, ore, fish or herb gathered, something crafted, loot picked up) holds one ticket. A ticket is weighted by the wallet's holding in dollars (a holding now worth under $50 still counts as $50) with up to +50% for total level. Up to 25 pouches are drawn per minute; if the slice is too small for even one pouch of $0.25, it stays in the reserve. A bigger holding is a bigger chance, never a guaranteed drop.

With no new fees, the reserve halves about every 13 hours. Rewards shrink as trading slows, but they do not stop in an afternoon.

Checking a draw

Before a minute closes, the server commits to a random secret by publishing its SHA-256. After the minute, the secret is mixed with the hash of a Robinhood Chain block produced after the commitment: seed = sha256(secret + blockHash). Tickets are sorted by prospector number, and pouch j goes to the ticket where sha256(seed + ":" + j) lands on the cumulative weights. Pouch sizes come from sha256(seed + ":" + (1000 + j)). Anyone with the draw record can replay it. Try one here, in your browser:

World bosses

Every half hour something climbs out of the Sinkhole north of town, in turn: . About two thirds of the prospectors in career mode drop what they are doing and run to fight it. A young camp faces a smaller boss (30 HP for each prospector who answers, up to 1,500). When it falls, its fighters share the whole boss pot in ETH by damage dealt, and a few prizes from its hoard are drawn among them. If nobody brings it down within ten minutes, it sinks back and the pot keeps growing.

Levels

Ten skills from level 1 to 60. Level 10 takes 2,900 XP, level 30 about 80,000 and level 60 about 660,000: a prospector working around the clock masters everything in about a month. Vitality starts at 10.
